Kennedy warns of Cuba risk in Latin America clash
James Marlow notes Kennedy leaders' meeting failed to settle policy on communism in Cuba. He argues U S aims to stop Soviet influence in the hemisphere, highlights Formosa and Vietnam as backyards, and warns that rising American pressure could provoke later conflict with Red China and Russia. The piece frames a paradox: the United States acts to contain communism at home while facing a broader battle abroad.
