Negro Sheriff Says Law and Order Is Dead
Atlanta AP reports Macon County Alabama Sheriff Lucius D Amerson says law and order as a rallying cry is dead. He notes white student riots shift focus away from law and order and asserts Negro officials can advance their race as effectively as federal leaders. He adds sheriffs role may matter more to African Americans than congressional office.
