In Rochester New York a 96 year old nun known as Sister Maureen faces first degree manslaughter charges over the death of her newborn son found in a convent room. A non jury trial heard testimony that she claimed intestinal pains and inability to teach as others found the baby dead.

Judge Richey will conduct a pretrial hearing Friday amid possible delays from an out of court settlement. Hunt is serving 30 months to 8 years after pleading guilty to conspiracy.
Harrisburg AP Gov Shapp accepts the resignation of state Adjutant Gen Harry Mier head of the Pennsylvania National Guard amid controversy over alleged personal use of Guard aircraft. Shapp praises his work and says the resignation takes effect March 1 with no further comment from the administration.
