A Wle year old Corry combat veteran died when an armored personnel carrier sank in Tobacco Leaf Lake at Fort Knox. Sgt. Sanders, a Pennsylvanian National Guard member with World War II and Korea service, drowned after the vehicle capsized during training. His body was recovered hours later near the flooding area. Sanders held multiple decorations and served across continents including Okinawa, Germany, and France. Funeral arrangements are being organized by Bracken Funeral Home in Corry.
