Dunkirk School Chief Probed Over Controversial Newsletter
Dunkirk superintendent Thomas E. Harney faced a board inquiry after Alois Schmidt alleged Harney appeared as a director of the Tradition masthead. Harney admitted supplying some article material to editors while denying official ties, saying the items concerned book and pamphlet guidance by the National Conference of Christians and Jews. He described the Tradition article as written by David F. Gordon using his supplied material plus other sources.
