Word from Corry friends confirms former Corry Junior High instructor Lieut William Frye is missing in action since January 29 after his ship was lost over Germany. Frye, who left teaching for Meadville, later joined the Army Air Force, trained at Ban Marcus Field Texas, and served with a bombing squadron in England. His wife, related to Mrs Reagan, is believed to be in New Hampshire. Renesu, formerly YMCA director in Corry, relays the notice.

Russia continues to require track materials and rolling stock, with tentative talks for large postwar purchases and cash payment preference.
Washington reports the office of price administration announces a three week transition using one point green stamps and blue ration tokens as change for processed foods. Lieut Paul J Fourney of the Army Ade Corps and Lieut Leo Hitz were killed in a bomber crash at March Field California. Fourney, a Corry boy son of Mrs Ned Fourney Beckley West Virginia, attended St Edwards High School and joined the Army Air Corps in 1933 with Robert Sullivan. Mrs Patsy Reese of West Wayne Street and others expect their return aboard a scheduled train Saturday morning.
