Erie Man Killed in Crane Fall at Foundry
James E. Allen, 52, a maintenance man, died after falling 40 feet from an overhead crane at the Erie Foundry Co. Eyewitnesses say he reached the top from an access ladder and struck the cement floor. Coroner Merle Wood noted head injuries and an autopsy pending to determine exact cause.
