Corry's St Edward's School and Mount Calvary Erie send all girl teams for a county spellers TV contest over WSEE TV at 11 am. Eight of the 12 spellers have prior TV experience. Erie Day School enters three boys and two girls. St Edward's lists Linda Burrows Janelle Spiesman Sharlene Kane Betta Jo Malone Mary Jean McCloskey with Sisters Mary Mar M Lawrence and M Agnita as teachers.
The Raymond union chapter at Local 829 United A Workers rejected a strike over disciplinary action at the Raymond division plant. At a meeting in North Center street’s Central Labor Union hall, members upheld a paid suspension for a member for a company rule infraction. Albert Ross and William Helmintoller announced the decision, noting details were not disclosed.
