A second burglary in two weeks hits Tracy’s restaurant and hardware store in Riceville. A collision yesterday at 10 near North Center Street in front of the Ryanyell United Brethren Church injured a four year old boy and caused an estimated 325 dollars in damage to two vehicles. James Vanderhoof, age four, suffered facial cuts and a knocked out tooth in the crash. The drivers were Valder hoof Jr., 30, of Bear Lake RD 1, and Harold Lloyd, 48, of 129 East Irving Street. Lloyd was northbound and turning into the church driveway when his car skidded on a slippery street, striking the Vanderhoof vehicle.
A 9 year old Altoona boy Jeffrey Aliet drowned Saturday in the Altoona YMCA pool while attending a swim class with about 50 children. Coroner Harald Troxell reported the body was found in seven feet of water.
13 month old Brian Demers of Irwin choked on a toy lodged in the throat. Franklin Hospital personnel pronounced him dead on arrival. Venango County Coroner Dr Maurice Dimbieva cited asphyxiation. Parents Wilfred and Mix Demers of RD Lo Tryin assisted. Incident occurred near Hazel Township while en route to Franklin Hospital.

About 4,000 labor delegates will convene in Philadelphia on July 12 to finalize the merger of the state CTO and APL. Norman Blumberg and Joseph A.
