From Jolly Corks To Elks 54th Birthday Birth Of Order
The 54th anniversary of the Elks born in New York in 1868 recalls the Jolly Corks origin with fourteen men meeting in 1868. It notes milestones, founders like Vivian, lodge spread from New York to Anchorage and Manila, and the vision to make Elks a community civic center. Joe Norcross is the last surviving charter member, reflecting on the order’s growth and motto.
