Sweetheart Ball Readies 14th Annual Moose Event
The Women of the Moose sponsor the 14th annual Sweetheart Ball this Saturday from 9 30 p m to 1 30 a m at the Moose Lodge. Proceeds benefit the WOTM Nurses Scholarship Fund with the public invited. Music by Sands of Time and a sweetheart couple will be chosen and awarded a 25 dollar savings bond for couples married 15 to 25 years.

JoAnne Therese Burrows and Louis S Brown Jr were married at 1 am Saturday in St Thomas the Apostle Church. Rev John Lucas officiated. A large wedding party and 150 guests attended a reception at St Elizabeth Parish Center. The couple will live in Spartansburg. she is Corry Area High School 1974 graduate and he works at Glo Ray Corp. Local and out of town relatives attended.

Group Meets With Mrs P Meerdink
Mrs Paul Meerdink entertained fourteen members and one guest at her Wright street home for the Elizabeth Circle of the First United Methodist Church. W B Stowe chaired the meeting and Harle Bliley led devotions on Compassion for the World's Hungry. A week of prayer and self denial was announced with a special service on February 13. Aderbal Lima from Corry Area High School will speak as a Brazilian exchange student at the next meeting. Ruth Dahlstrand presented A Christian Looks at Transcendental Meditation. Mrs Rex Warner assisted with refreshments, and the next gathering will be at Mrs Earle Bliley's home on East Pleasant street.
