County tax boost looms unless poor farm sale succeeds
Erie County faces an eight mill tax raise in 1928 if the old county poor farm is not sold. County Controller Harvey Willis told commissioners a sale could raise about 120000 to cover deficits, fund road improvements, and support the comfort station. The court must approve the sale, with current funds showing only 3000 available for new projects after prior appropriations and pay raises.
