State College aid forms emphasize SAT eligibility for scholarships. A score of 800 or more qualifies, with tests on March 1 and May 3. Juniors must list a Social Security number on the SAT registration or mail a separate application. SATs exclude trade or nursing programs, and PHEAA scholarships may still apply. Deadline for August 1 graduates.
State Rep. R. Budd Dwyer is notified that entry permits for core drilling on land for a proposed multi purpose dam near Centerville are being prepared by the Department of Forests and Waters. Delays arose as landowners in Pittsburgh delayed negotiations by mail. Dr. Maurice Goddard said bid forms will follow once permits are received.
The Wyoming Senate amended a proposed constitutional amendment authorizing 19 year olds to vote if men do not have long hair. The measure requires youths aged 19 and 20 to meet military standards for haircuts. Senator W. Myers of Evanston commented that accepting citizenship means looking like a citizen.
