Fire of undetermined origin destroyed two barns on the M. J. Spencer farm one and one half miles south of Carter Hill early Sunday afternoon. Forty eight cattle including 18 cows and 19 yearling Herefords perished. Loss about $10,000 with $3,000 insured. Theodore Vanderhoof suffered minor burns and smoke effects and was treated at Cory hospital. origin uncertain. Fire spread rapidly due to snowbound roads hampering access.
