Erie OPA district office hires new enforcement aide
Joseph 3. Lewis, a Pittsburgh lawyer, began work Monday in the Erie OPA district office as assistant enforcement attorney Albert Berger acting chief enforcement attorney. A report that some recently killed deer on the Peninsula reached private hands was denied by park superintendent Millard Davis. Police responded to a railroad crossing near the Revere House where a freight car blocked the crossing for 30 minutes and delayed an expectant mother en route to the hospital. Decrees of consent suspending operations for the war duration were signed by two Erie gasoline stations cited for rationing violations. Only about a percent of Erie district residents buying whiskey are purchasing rationed fish at state stores.
