Poison Plot Tale Involving College Student and Informed Husband
Los Angeles police booked Richard C. La Force, an 18 year old physics major at California Institute of Technology, on suspicion of attempting to poison Robert P. Hayden, 19, husband of La Force’s former classmate Joyce Hayden. Investigators say La Force claimed five attempts over two months using arsenic or cyanide variants to poison Hayden. He admitted loving Joyce and schemed to hurt Hayden’s marriage, with Joyce unaware of the plan until last weekend. He faces likely charges of administering poison with intent to murder.
