Man Loses Fight to Retain $10,000 Estate

Westerwick of Butler, Pa, has been refused the right to recover a $10,000 estate. The case involves a tax sale where George A. Hess, Pittsburg executive, was deemed the legal owner. The court earlier ordered Hess to reimburse Westerwick $70 for the deed cost, with Westerwick’s bid at a tax sale cited as the basis for ownership. Westerwick testified he learned of no tax claim until Hess asserted the land.
