Stocks Make Small Gains
Fractional recoveries were scored in the stock market by mid afternoon in an otherwise dull session. Dealings were slow with little liquidity and a firmer opening gave way to a narrow, improving tone as the day advanced. Gains came mainly from reduced selling rather than stronger buying, with a list of 2 oclock prices showing modest moves across many issues.
