The case centers on a claimed common law marriage said to have occurred May 15, 1921, in Houston, Texas, and will be heard by a jury after testimony gathered locally.
Lawrence Anderson of Jamestown indicted for arson in third degree for setting fires at Paquin Snyder store in Shell Theatre building and other sites in the area. Pleaded not guilty before Justice Crosby. bail set at 10,000. case sent to County Court. Anderson, 26, confessed to authorities admitting fires at Wilson Mills Inc Madoxatte Co Don Allen Curtis factory Jamestown Panel Co and Paquin Snyder store. Total losses approx 100000.
A two gun bandit killed autoist Michael Judge as he stopped to repair an automobile on Duchesne Boulevard. A bystander reported the attacker demanded money, then opened fire before fleeing use of a waiting car. Judge was taken to a hospital but died. A patrol search followed.
