State Auditor Won't Audit County Leader Records

State Auditor General Frank Baldwin refused to audit records in the office of County Controller Harvey M. Willis citing no law authorizing such an audit. Willis demands an inquiry saying it could cost thousands, possibly up to ten thousand dollars, and hints the county may need funds in the 1987 budget to finance it. Meanwhile, county commissioners are wary of spending from a slim balance of just over ten thousand. Also, Pittsburgh detectives arrested 23 people and seized 29 slot machines and punch boards in raids on gambling devices.
