Fall River Fire Sparks Rehabilitation Plans In City

Chamberlin wrecks plane in endurance attempt
Clarence Chamberlin and co pilot Rogers Williams survived a wreck at Byrd Field during an endurance flight plan to set a world record. The Kelcly loaded craft struck a wing tip after takeoff, injuring Chamberlin slightly with a burned hand while Williams escaped uninjured. Hold-up attempt on Washington Street ends in struggle
Police investigated an attempted hold-up near Safelock on Washington Street. Lee Spoon of Columbus was accosted by a man who struck him and tried to wrest his coat. Prison Break Ends in Guard's Death at State Prison
In Trenton on February 4 Joseph Tinney center-keeper and guard Harry Baxter 33 were killed and inmate Frank Winski or Warkowski surrendered after an attempted escape. Baxter was shot while climbing a rope over the outer wall and died in the prison hospital. The scene occurred as inmates were awakened five minutes after the break was begun.
