More Court Battle Seen on NCAA Grade Rule Overthrow

SAN FRANCISCO AP Further federal court hearings seem likely over the NCAA 1.6 rule. NCAA officials said they expect to challenge a judge’s finding that the rule violated the rights of Cal athletes Isaac Curtis and Larry Brumsey. The judge cautioned his ruling was preliminary and limited to the California case, not the entire rule. Curtis, a 3.2 GPA student, and Brumsey, 2.7, enrolled in 1969. Cal sanctions followed for failing to take the 1.6 tests due to a clerical error.
