To Finish Tax Appeals By March
Erie County tax appeals on 1969 county property assessments filed outside Erie city are slated for hearings before March 1 to align changes with the city treasurer. About 2,000 appeals have been heard, with 2,000 remaining from a total of roughly 4,200 filed after the countywide reappraisal by outside firm A Ted Pournaras heads the assessment board with Tullio Taft Stadtmeuller as members. City residents facing county bills may pay under protest and be reimbursed if the appeal favors them.
