Sunbury Faces Empty Field After Local Baseball Fallout
Sunbury, 40 miles north of Harrisburg, faces no league for 1954 despite a $160,000 park and 400 boosters. The city, once in the Interstate League, failed to secure a postwar Class B circuit and may dismantle the facility, aiming instead for a midget auto track. Meanwhile Meadville leads a three-team hoop spread as Corry Area hosts a college twin bill and Otto Graham weighs retirement from football while equipment costs rise for clubs.
