A 95 million bill should fund relief work through next January or perhaps two to three months longer if seasonal activity delays pickup. He suggested a possible continuation a few weeks beyond May 1 if needed and noted plans to gradually reduce payrolls. Federal compensation for deceased or injured relatives was projected at 24 million, though the draft bill may exclude future CWA workers from such benefits.
