EDGARTOWN Mass AP At least 20 witnesses expected next week at the District Court inquest into Mary Jo Kopechne 28 who died July 18 when Edward Kennedy's car sank in a Martha's Vineyard pond.
Mrs. Eldred aged 76 of Corry died at 8 p.m. last evening at Corry Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since November 3. Born December 17, 1893, she lived in Union City and Wayne Township before marriages to Frank Bulard and Glenn Eldred. Survived by two sons, two stepdaughters, grandchildren, sisters, and a brother. Funeral at Bracken Funeral Home Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial in West Spring Creek Cemetery.
Jacob M. Peterson lifelong Jefferson resident died yesterday at Corry Memorial Hospital after two years illness. Born July 5 1908 in Maryland New York he farmed locally. Survived by sister Edna P Williams of 402 Spring Street one niece and one nephew. Remains to Hall Funeral Home Stanford for viewing Friday with services at 11.

Sam McVicker, Inc., arrested in Johnstown Pennsylvania and charged with seven counts of cheating by false pretense for ordering about $85,000 worth of merchandise by mail without paying. Police recovered 3500 books, clocks, safes, tools, lamps, and more from his homes and a rented storage garage. A moving van moved the loot to a warehouse as an out of state firm flagged the nonpayment. Bond set at $21,000 ahead of arraignment.
Robert E. Carney 20, of Erie, died from multiple injuries after a car he drove swerved out of control and hit a utility pole shortly after 9 p.m. His brother Mark 18 remained in critical condition in Hamet ICU. Coroner Merle Wood said no autopsy. Police investigator Steve Gusak noted the car spun 360 degrees and struck a tree.
