In the Granada Cafe Southside melee two men, Hugh McGovern and William McPadden, are killed amid a dance crowd of 200 plus. United Press reports from Van Nuys California that the Army craft Question Mari carrying crew and fuel will attempt a world endurance flight by remaining aloft from Metropolitan airport at dawn. Refueling tests at San Diego reportedly succeeded and officials are confident the attempt will set a new record with food and supplies managed between the two planes during the flight.
President-elect Herbert Hoover works aboard the Utah on his South America goodwill mission. He will map out topics for President Hoover to discuss with President-elect Coolidge, including domestic issues and economic lessons from his trip. The voyage nears the West Indies as the ship passes Barbados east of Barbad.
