Orin H. Schurman of Clymer is reported to have died by suicide at his home. The 30 year old man was found hanging in a shed on the farm late Friday afternoon by relatives. Coroner Samuel T. Bowers of Jamestown issued a certificate of death by self inflicted action. Survived by wife Lucy Spielberg Schurman and two sons Raymond and Ruth, and a sister Mrs. Gertrude Bennice of Corry. Funeral arrangements set for Sunday at 2 o'clock at the Spiller residence with services led by Rev. Govill Timmerburg and burial at Folond Cemetery.
Walter N Payne, long-time Erie newspaper representative and Ajax Tor Works employee, was found dead in his Corry home this morning from a heart condition. He was born in England and lived in the United States since 1908, with a career spanning Boston and Detroit before settling in Corry. He leaves sister Florence Payne of Godalming England and brother Harry Payne of Oxford, plus other relatives. His body was taken to Brackee-Feating Funeral Home for arrangements not yet finalized.
Bridgeport Conn December 22 five children aged one to nine perished in a home fire that swept the house of Samuel and Mrs Carcare while parents were away at a gasoline station. Fire officials say Christmas tree lights likely caused the blaze. Victims were Samuel three Salvatore three Ralph four Matthew eight and Rose Marie nine. The fire marked the third deadly blaze in Connecticut that week.
