Boston minister claims first half of Declaration found

City considers new sewer billing tied to water use

Corry City Council plans an ordinance to base sewer charges on water consumption and merge sewer bills with monthly water bills. Current sewerage is a flat 27 per year paid as 9 every four months. Ineligible Food Stamp Payouts Reported At 215 Million

Washington reports the government paid about 215 million in food stamps to ineligible recipients in the first half of 1976. The USDA survey notes 748000 of 19 million top users were ineligible and 18 million received too many stamps. Overpayments reached 105.4 million while ineligible payments totaled 109.3 million. Amtrak Battles Bum Rap Over Derailment Count

Amtrak defends its safety record amid six derailments since mid November noting 96 derailments for the year vs 8 in 1975 38 in 1974 and 34 in 1973. Spokesman says there has been no fatality since 1973 and compares rail safety favorably to highway deaths while detailing roadbed upgrades and a 1.6 billion bridge and track project from Washington to Houston.

Rouse Home Resident Killed By Tractor Trailer

A Rouse Home resident Warren County aged 66 Cleon J Sanford was killed in a parking lot crash at the facility hospital authorities said he died from multiple internal injuries ruled accidental. The pickup driver Thomas Knott 31 of Jamestown NY said he did not see Sanford walk into the path of the vehicle while laundry was being moved in a grocery cart.

Veterans Get Higher GI Insurance Dividends for 1977

The VA announces 1977 GI insurance dividends totaling 408.4 million with 3.5 million World War II veterans receiving an average 104 dollars as dividends.
