Cub Scout Pack No. 79 from LeBoeuf District of the Washington Trail Council entertained residents at Colonial Terrace Motel with a program of Christmas carols and holiday songs. Scouts presented residents with handmade centerpieces featuring natural log pieces, red candles, ground pine, and decorations.

In Gloucester England AP reports an Altoona motel photo and a vigilant maid led to the remarriage of Jean Wood and Bob Conrad both 25 years after their divorce. Conrad, 52, met his former wife during a visit to the United States, triggering a renewed romance and a ceremony in Gloucester Tuesday. They plan a motel honeymoon in Altoona.

In Meadville the Fucci residence was destroyed by a blaze started by Christmas decorations left on the enclosed front porch. James Fucci woke to smoke and flames and led his wife Mary and her mother Helen Marendo to safety. West Mead 2, West Mead 1, Saegertown, Meadville Central Station and a tanker were dispatched, about 75 firefighters attended, and the house was described as completely gone except for the shell.
