Referendum on Blue Laws Will Be Advocated
Statewide debate centers on repealing or modifying the Sunday Blue Laws of 1784 with a referendum to be proposed by Assemblyman M. A. Musmanno. The measure would let voters decide if the 1794 Sunday law should stand, with municipalities then regulating Sunday activities after 2 pm if a majority desires. Musmanno also seeks shifts in coal and iron policing and worker compensation for facial disfigurement, plus requirements for shatterproof glass in public conveyances.
