United Press reports Italian and Austro German forces clashed with heavy artillery as the Italians repulsed renewed assaults near Mount Bel l a and Mount Grappa. Despite severe bombardment German and Austro German troops briefly captured front line trenches but Italian troops counterattacked. Local attacks on their positions were met with machine gun fire and shelling.
Mrs Amanda Edmonds died at home in Raymond Thursday after a five month illness. Survived by husband W. P. Edmonds of Corry and Vaneslater, Emma Washburn of Indianapolis, and others. Born in Ohio to BeotEnglist parents, she had lived here five years and was a longtime member of the First M. E. Church. Funeral Thursday at 2 30 p m at her son's home Concord and Pixley streets, Rev K R L Foulkes officiating. Interment Pine Grove cemetery.
A Christmas wedding was held at the farm home of Mr and Mrs H R Briggs in Wayne township. Their daughter H Briggs married Arthur G Lyman of Cor ri township in a ceremony led by Rev A J Pate. Attendants included Hma Briggs and APSHIE Bilge with others from the immediate families. A fine dinner followed and the couple planned a short wedding trip before settling in Concord.
A telegraphed report notes Erio raureau Train No. 8 delayed about 40 miles west of Maudville, arriving at 10 o'clock. One of the driving rods in angina became defective, causing a derailment and a stalled train for nearly two hours. No injuries reported. a bound truck obstructed the line.
During Chelnt final week shoplifting was noted with several losses and stores reporting incidents to Goyural Corry atorey. Prosecution may follow as culprits were observed in multiple towns with at least one high value item stolen and store owners in possession of information.

United Press dispatch from Washington reports the Seventy Military Airplane Committee urged Secretary Baker to cut red tape and issue overcoats and other winter clothing to all men in cantonment camps. Camp commanders were authorized to buy needed garments in nearby towns as curents would arrive sooner than the Quartermaster Department could supply them. The push follows telegrams from camp commanders noting lack of proper clothing for winter use.

Mrs Kincaid died yesterday in New York City following a surgical operation at a hospital. She was 43, survived by her husband and no children, Marion and Elmer Jr, and by her parents Mr and Mrs A Bracken, a sister Mrs Dulin Wood of Hartford, Conn, and two brothers Roger and Ralph Bracken. Services are planned in New York Thursday and burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery Friday morning.
Norbert Nantea of Youngatown was visiting relatives in the city for Christmas and returns home this morning, completing a holiday trip.
The Municipal Service Board announces open positions for city posts including Chief of Police and Assistant Chief. Applications must be filed with the board, with examinations for those in city service or past six months of service. The board, chaired by Aster Dyuns, guides the municipal appointments and will meet January 14 to set next steps.
A northbound P R R train on the Pennsylvania was delayed for nearly two hours today after an engine broke at the A T Mower crossing. A large turnout attended the Armory Band dance last evening, with dancing from 9 p m. and a fine program by the organ tuned and augmented orchestra. The event served as a reunion for Corry residents home for Christmas, praised for its social and musical success. The Band has planned similar Armory dances through the winter months.
