Escaping Gas Kills Erie Men

December 24 reports from Erie detail a gas asphyxiation inside a home on Enosfiag street. Charles Mauer John Wolnh and George Preslan along with two children were found unconscious last evening. John Mal and George Pfeil died from the incident. Neighbors notified authorities and an afternoon investigation followed. The scene showed victims on beds and a stove venting gas in the kitchen.

Senator Kern Pleads in Dynamite Conspiracy Trial

Indianapolis December 24. United States Senator Kern closed the defense argument in the dynamite conspiracy case against the Trap Workers of the World. He attacked Ortie McManigal as a traitorous perjurer and called his confessions a monstrous fraud on innocent men. With Kern's closing address the defense rested.

The Standard Glave Company suffered a $250,000 loss when the Ligmenss plant in thin oir was totally destroyed. Firemen and watchmen battled the blaze but the plant of the big concent was destroyed and nearby embankment was affected.

Bandits Rob Express as Posse Chases Them in Wisconsin

Four masked men boarded an express train near the station in Emberfield Wisconsin and forced the engine to uncouple. They attempted to blow the safe twice but failed and fled with sacks of valuables. Armed posse men pursue the bandits and a daytime skirmish was expected.

Taft Reaches Panama for Holiday Visit

President Taft and his party arrived at the harbor this morning at eight o'clock in Colon. Officials from President Porras of Panama met them along with State officials and American Embassy attaches. A grand Christmas ball hosted by President Porras was planned for the evening with prominent republic leaders and their wives attending.
