Guard Attorney's Safety Tied to Bruno Case Escapade
A Meadville Special Prosecutor, A. L. Thomas, faces heightened protection after reports that Joseph J. Bruno, the convicted slayer who escaped from Schuylkill County jail, vowed to target him. County officials and state police are coordinating guards and transport to shield Thomas and his property. The case underscores tensions around the Bruno trial and prison security during the election eve massacre fallout. In separate notes, a freak shooting incident near Peltsville injures a toe, and Corry Public Library reports November circulation more than doubling September levels, driven by increased use as the school term progresses and more adult patrons.
