Food Riots Erupt in Dresden as Hundreds Demand Aid

United Press reports from London say serious food riots broke out in Dresden with hundreds of women marching in a procession, stoning shops, and marching to the palace. Military and civil authorities were summoned to quell the disturbances. three policemen were injured.

Midnight Volunteers Restore City Journal Issue

The Journal acknowledges reader frustration over yesterday's delay and describes a late night effort by volunteers to print the edition. Gily Doud, long associated with Ross Mead in the Nori Center barber business, has bought an interest in the Paulson shop and will take possession Tuesday morning. Switchmen Win Wage Decision In New York

The Switchmen's organization won a partial grant of their wage demands in a Federal Arbitration Board opinion filed in U.S. District Court. Community Tree Readies for Christmas Eve Illumination

Williamsport plans a Sunday evening tree lighting at 8 30 with Mayor Patterson pressing the switch and a big chorus to sing. Scouts and churches will ensure warm, safe care for about 900 participating children, snow cleared, and ample space around the tree. Rubber storm shoes for needy children are being provided through James Fischer and United States Rubber Co with support from M A Clark of the Williamsport plant.
