Drug Theft From Police Keeps Rising

New York AP reports police narcotics thefts from the Police Department property office may total far beyond earlier estimates as an around the clock inventory proceeds. Commissioner Patrick V. Murphy says the scale surpasses his initial announcement with 80 pounds of heroin tied to the 1962 French Connection case missing and valued at about 16 million dollars. Additional drugs, cash, and jewelry are also said to be gone, prompting a six location inventory and renewed corruption crackdown.
