The city begins winter with a council meeting on trade and mall plans amid a weekend snowstorm. Officials announce Christmas and New Year holidays for public staff, a reshaped county board meeting schedule, and a busy week of safety and highway patrol reports as roads stay slick and schools close for holidays.
The annual Christmas exercises at the Sunday school of the Missionary Alliance Church were held Wednesday December 2001 under the direction of Mrs Roy Mather and Mrs Lindsey. Parents and the general public attended. The program featured numerous recitations and choral numbers led by a long list of participating children and several named adults. A Bethlehem scene with many named characters accompanied the presentation How Christmas Sets the Whole World Singing reflected Luke 2 14.
Francis McCray answers radio questions about tubes not firing, tubes lighting but no sound, and all wave aerials. He notes grounded chasses and faulty condenser plates, suggests tube testing, and warns against servicing with power on. Readers are invited to mail problems to the Journal.
