Christmas Week Shopping Amid Turbulent Letters
A garbled wartime era page lists local Christmas shopping items, fruitcakes, nuts, candy, dolls, and decorations from Knowlton Bros and Pettit's Greenhouse. It notes community events, a soldier’s letter about Corporal Sullinger, and a Christmas display by Frank Renzi, with ads for shops on Main and Center streets and a Foxworthy-like ballot of wartime supply items.
