Youngsville Bypass Opens Amid Celebration
The first section of Warren County's four lane limited access Youngsville bypass opened after a ribbon cutting attended by Sen. Richard Frame and hundreds of residents. Two Safe In Evie Area Plane Crash
A light Piper Cherokee en route from White Plains to Erie crashed in woods about 10 miles from its destination during freezing rain. Norman L. Cousins, 24, of Flushing New York, and Mrs Joan A Krause, 39, of Briar Cliff Manor New York, were rescued about 90 minutes later and listed in fair condition at St Vincent's hospital.

Jaycees Aid Santa Project Near McKean
The Jaycees helped a deserv ing youngster have a hap py Christmas near McKean about 10 miles south of Erie, with gifts purchased by children at downtown stores. A spokesman said the plane at Erie International Airport ran out of fuel. Participants shopped with donated money then met at the Jaycee rooms for refreshments. Dennis Frushone, program chairman, called the project a fine success.

Crawford County to raise per capta tax to five dollars
Meadville Crawford County commissioners tentatively adopted a 1969 budget of 2,509,188.49 dollars with the per capita tax rising from 3 to 5 dollars to fund the 2.5 million plan. The real estate tax rate stays at 13 mills and the budget uses December estimates due to January 15 deadline.
