Killed were Pfc George A Barnes 30 of the permanent garrison and Pvt Anthony Cesta 23 of Mount Vernon North Carolina. Cesta was in basic training. Injured slightly was S Sgt Solomon Tyson 35 also of the garrison. Preliminary findings indicated the grenade thrown by Costa exploded as it left his hand.
Erie County court action seeks custody of six cows owned by veterinarian Raymond McKinley. The suit targets Mr and Mrs Gonds of Wattsburg to accept the cows, purchased for 2400 in January 1960. McKinley claims the cows are dry and costly to maintain while he seeks the promissory note’s return and damages for fraudulent conversion.
Pennsylvania State Employment Service manager Liam Michael lists 11 openings in Corry across fields from milling machine and engine lathe operators to tool and die makers and engineers. Macmillan arrived in Bermuda and is in contact with the President, who is at St Marys Hospital in West Palm Beach after leaving his oceanfront mansion for care.
