Survivors of German liner Columbus reach New York

The Tuscaloosa picked up 570 men and nine women as the Columbus burned and drifted after leaving Vera Cruz last week. A British destroyer stood by, and discrepancies in passenger counts spark fear of unrecovered lives. Mrs Crag and Mrs Collins visited Erie, while D A Hillstrom and son left for an industry meeting in Buffalo, N Y.
