Sparkettes Hold Annual Awards Dinner and Party
The Sparkettes marching group hosted its annual awards dinner and Christmas party in the Starlite Room at the Salvation Army Citadel on Wednesday evening. About 150 attendees included Sparkettes and their families. Awards honored instructors Sue Benson and Norma Donoghue, with many other participants receiving trophies, jackets, or charms for baton twirling and service. Santa Claus distributed gifts to youngsters after the award presentations.

Open House for Blynts Marks 50th Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Raymond Blynt Sr of 831 Prospect Corry will host an open house and reception at the Elks Lodge Sunday December 28 from 2 to 4 PM in celebration of their 50th anniversary. They were married December list 1925 in Corry.

Daniel Reynolds Jr. of 440 Hatch street Corry won the 10 speed bicycle awarded by the Corry-Ettes marching group. The winning ticket was drawn by George Patterson vice president of the Stanford Hose Company which sponsors the group. Prizes were given to Cindy Brown Lisa Hagberg and Diana Small for their efforts in raising funds for drums and uniforms with thanks to the Stanford Hose Company and ticket buyers.

The Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary held its annual Christmas dinner at the Edgewood Motel near Youngsville. After dessert and refreshments, 15 members visited Mrs. Ralph Joann Trask’s home for a social and gift exchange. Prizes went to Sharon Sickler, Fran Jaquith, and Joan Smith.

Holiday Dinner Of Relief Corps In Corry
Members of the Women's Relief Corps Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic held a full day at Corry Grange Hall on Park Street with hostesses Mrs. Etla Sargent, Mrs. Eileen Skiff and Mrs. Florence Casler. Mrs. Ben Lillie baked a decorated cake for birthdays of Mrs. Margaret Erskin, Mrs. Winnie Pierce, and Mrs. Mary Robbins. Mrs. Etta Sargent led the afternoon business session and a donation to the Brookville Home was approved. Velma Long directed a program with readings and carols as members signed cards for hospital patients and exchanged gifts. The next meeting is in January. hospitality by Sargent, Lillie, and Opal Pier.
