Judge Orders Slots Destruction in County Club Raids
Judge Elmer J. Evans ordered the destruction of about 450 slot machines seized in state police raids on county clubs and Go Exie City. He set a 2 pm Thursday hearing on petitions by Penn Novelty Co. and American Vending Machine Co. for return of machines and punchboards. Attorneys for Penn Novelty argued console machines were not gambling devices per se. no defenses were entered for the slot machines held at the Lawrence Park bar racks. Destruction will be overseen by state police after destruction order receipts.

Veterans to Receive NSLI Dividend Next Year
The Veterans Administration announced a second NSLI dividend will be paid next year to about five million veterans with Lionist Service Site Thsistance policies. First payments start in February with most recipients receiving $60. The total dividend is 10 million dollars after two prior payments totaling nearly four billion dollars.
