Two Hunters Wounded in Elk County Woods
On Saturday in Elk County woods two hunters were wounded and one injured. Ralph Haerr of Verona Frank Ursits of Monongahela Alfred Gwens 25 Bellaire were hurt. Haerr suffered a gunshot wound and finger loss, Ursits fractures from a fall, Owens hospitalized near St Marys. All injuries nonfatal and under care.

Guardsmen Receive $4000 Quarterly Salary Increase
About 80 local National Guardsmen at Headquarters Company and Companies M and Unt will share roughly $4000 in a quarterly payroll, as Major J. R. Newton reports. The prior payroll was $8800 for the camp at Th iantown Gap, with annual estimates around $24000 if full strength is achieved. The units have expanded strength and equipment through a concerted recruitment drive. Also noted, the War Assets Administration called for the disposal of assets at the Keystone Ordinance Works in Greenwood Township, unused since the war.
