Oliphant Links Senator Bridges to Tax Case Probe

Charles Oliphant testified that Henry Grunewald claimed to act for Senator Bridges in a tax dispute involving H. H. Klein of Baltimore. He said Bridges asked about the Klein matter while Grunewald pressed to settle differences, as House investigators probe irregularities in tax cases.

Two Die in Mercer Area Plane Crash

A plane crashed nine miles north of Mercer killing Donald W. Carroll of Youngstown and Stanley Rudnik of Pulaski. Carroll, likely pilot, was vice president of the Youngstown Flying Club. The crash cause remains undetermined. Both men were employed by General Fireproofing Company in Youngstown.

Ground broken for new railway passenger depot

Ground breaking marked the start of a new railway passenger depot project west of the Erie Press Co. office. Attendees included Car daniestown Miz Corp president Dayle Hulstinin and Erie officials. concrete work is planned next week by LOA budwig construction. Steel Age Club Members Feted At Dinner
