Two Bradford Men Escape Injury In Gifford Route 59 Crash
Two Bradford men escaped serious injury yesterday afternoon when an empty glycerine truck left Route 59 near Gifford, struck a pole, and damaged power lines. The truck belonged to Pringle Powder Company of Bradford and was driven by C. T. Milliken with Harry Pirk as passenger. The men were reportedly en route from Smethport to Bradford when the accident happened. Bids may be sought in April for the Glenular River flood control dam in Elk County, as Congressman Gavin warned that a potential delay in federal expenditures could push back the project despite Army engineers expecting bids in April.
