Corry High School Beaver football may lose Joe Borkosky to another program as he rests with Ure Academy. Rumors say he could return to Corry before the next grid season. Local fans watch for updates.
About 20 to 25 people attended the Monticpel building meeting as Corry Ski Club organized with Dick Powers acting chairman and Miss Ethel Beckwith as temporary secretary. Howard J. Sheen will advise. Plans include securing sites at Matteson farm and Hare Creek road, contacting Cleveland Buffalo and Pittsburgh for snow trains, and surveying interest for a winter sports program centered at the Corry Country Club.
Southern California scheduled a scrimmage in preparation for the Rose Bowl against Duke. The Trojans resumed training after more than four weeks since beating Notre Dame on December 3. Eagles do not carry off babies.

Pittsburgh December 18 The veteran middleweight Yarosz of Monaen Pa outboxed Ralph DeJohn of Syracuse N Y in ten rounds for his second victory over the New Yorker. In their first meeting DeJohn nearly knocked Yarosz out, but the former champion again took the decision after cautious early rounds.
Villanova Pa December 13 Coach Maurice J Clipper Smith announced he rejected a three year contract to coach Holy Cross and would likely decline a Boston College offer His ties to Villanova are described as friendly and strong since he came from Santa Clara at the start of the 1996 season He notes he cannot bear the thought of leaving the school amid its long unbeaten stretch
Philadelphia on December 15 reports Hert Bell owner coach of the Philadelphia Eagles says pay will be right to assure the services of Dave O'Brien Texas Christian University All American in the Waglen draft. O'Brien, chosen last Friday in New York, had not decided on entering pro ranks next year. He reportedly said he is all set to play if the pay is right.
