Silk cargo stolen in Reading train robbery near Nashoming Falls
Philadelphia dispatch reports 15 bandits hijacked a Reading freight train near Nashoming Falls early today seizing a $50,000 silk cargo after a pitched gun battle with train crew. Conductor George Daney said the train halted suddenly as brakes were applied, bandits forced their way aboard, several crew members fired in defense and escaped. One bandit is believed wounded. six truck hits noted near the road.

Engine Tumble Destroys Pit Injures Hostler
Daniel Campbell of Meadville, employed as engine hostler by the Erie Railroad, escaped with minor injuries when the yard engine nose dived into a pit at the yards. The engine dropped three to four feet, with the tender buried. A Meadville wrecking crew lifted the engine back onto rails. Campbell’s injuries included the left side and right leg. he was treated at Corry Hospital and discharged. Initial reports of fatal injury proved false.

Trolleys Crash Injures Fifteen Near Tinleyville Pa
Fifteen persons were injured when two Pittsburgh Railways Co trolleys crashed head on two miles from Tinleyville, Pa at noon today. Company offices did not know the cause. Nearby towns were alerted for physicians as passengers were cut by flying glass or pinned in the wrecked cars.

Dr. BE Maitland surgeon at Spartansburg died at Curry Hospital this afternoon at 3 o clock after an operation weeks ago. He had been improving until about x weeks ago when his condition worsened, ending in his death. Local reports note extended fines and ongoing medical care surrounding the case.
