Jacob Ambrozic aged 38 of McKees Rocks died yesterday when his truck was struck by a locomotive at the Chestnut street crossing of the Pittsburgh and West Virginia Railroad in Pittsburgh.

Tidioute Dec 12 The pallet mill of Norton Products Company was destroyed by fire early this morning. The sprayline one story building showed flames when firemen arrived. Fire fighting was hampered by cold wind and snow but Tidliout Fire Department kept flames from spreading to lumber piles and nearby buildings. The mill, not touching Louisville Slugger bats, housed machinery and lumber lost. Loss estimated at 66000 with much covered by insurance. Fire chief Robert Christy attributed the blaze to defective wiring.

Four Navy airmen were killed when their twin engined PBY flying boat flipped after touching Port Royal Bay waters near Hamilton Bermuda. Three bodies were recovered, a fourth was missing as night search and rescue continued. two crewmen were seriously injured and two others were hurt but not as severely.
Harrisburg Dec 12 Members of the Pennsylvania State Police would receive a flat 18 percent salary increase under a bill before the Senate. Senator Hugh J McMenamin praises the force and argues for higher pay and pensions. Co sponsors are Senators William J Lane and John H Dent.
