Four Years Sentence for Carrying Weapon
Pieuling received four years for carrying a weapon in Mayville. John Moulton of Dunkirk was sent to Auburn prison for four years by Justice George Pierce after a Supreme Court ruling. Moulton also paid fines on related counts. The judge said Alves and Learhey were not connected to the case.

McKean Township Farmer Injured in Crash
A McKean Township farmer was struck by a truck on Eleventh and State Streets as he walked into its path. He suffered four compound fractures and was taken to St Vincent's Hospital. The truck was driven by W. A. Sweager of West Twenty Fourth Street.

Apprehended assailant held for Kane felonious assault
An assailant sought since August 97 was captured and brought to Kane. He appeared before Justice Emile Stenger and is held for court without bail on a felonious assault with attempt to kill charge. He was placed in Smethport jail by Chief Fowler.
